In this interview, Ryan Cope speaks with Eva Hartmann, the Executive Director for the Interior Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, located in Summerland, BC. We hear about the animals they’re permitted to care for, including the industrious beaver.

Eva explains how their centre is working to expand their beaver program to not only rehabilitate sick or injured beavers, but also to facilitate relocation efforts in the Okanagan.

We also learn what it means to be a “compassionate realist” when it comes to wildlife rehabilitation and that in all cases, it’s worth the effort.
